As a street photographer, you’re constantly improvising… like a good jazz musician.
You’re not quite certain what you’re searching for… before you visit it.
Don’t be stiff. Don’t be too focused. Embrace “open awareness”, and let your pictures come to you.
No cans. No telephone. Just you, the streets, your camera, and your own senses.
See. Hear. Look. Walk, discuss, wonder.
Go down paths. Go random alleys down. Don’t take the same path twice… switch it up.
Serendipity in road photography would be the sweetest joy. No GPS. No last destination. Just wandering the streets, like a good flaneur… and like a road puppy– follow your nose.
